Summer Weddings

It's the season for weddings! And we have had our share of friends tie the knot this year. Starting out in early June we headed to Portland for Shema and Brian's wedding. It was great to see them as well as catch up with our OSU pals, Josh, Trina, and Melissa. It was a reunion for the 'Committee.' Who knows when the next time we will all be getting together again as we all will be spread across the country. Shema and Brian heading off to New York City, Josh in North Carolina, Trina moving to Philadelphia, Melissa in Portland, and Ravi and I in Cali. One of these days we will have another reunion...maybe the next wedding???? Anyone???

The second wedding we headed out to Portland once again at the end of July for DP and Annika's wedding. The four day event started off with
Annika's sangeet Wednesday night with dancing and henna. Thursday was Dipesh's haldi rub, and from Ravi's first hand experience, DP was pretty yellow by the end. Friday was the garba at the Guju Community Center in Gresham (I didn't even know they had one). It seemed that the theme for the garba was orange! So, here we are DP, Ravi and I in our orange garb, also a tribute to the Beavers! :) It was a good time where we all enjoyed. It was a beautiful wedding as well as an awesome reception where Ravi and Navin entertained the crowd with their funny antics and well rehearsed script. For info and fun wishes for Annika and DP check out their own personal blog (http://www.dipeshandannika.blogspot.com/). The very next day, DP and Annika headed off to Hawaii for their honeymoon. Plus it was a mini-reunion for the Karipalli-Puri Family as we were mostly all together for the weekend. For more pictures from Dipesh and Annika's wedding, watch out for an album attached to either Ravi's Pictures or Priya's Pictures on the right side.

The third wedding was Minori and Mike's wedding in Portland at the Overlook House. What beautiful views! Despite a little bit of rain just before the wedding, it definitely did not dampen our spirits on this wonderful day! The wedding was beautiful and the party was happening! There were a few interesting guests, that we thoroughly enjoyed as we danced and celebrated with Mike and Minori. Their wedding cake was extremely tasty. I may need to have more of that one of these days. After the wedding we continued on with the partying at Minori and Mike's hotel.

The fourth wedding which we were not able to attend was Paola and Tyler's wedding in Costa Mesa. Paola and I were classmates at Loma Linda as well as roommates during our trip to Africa in 2004. We are excited for them and wish we could have attended the Vietnamese/Mexican wedding.

Overall, Congratulations to all of you and enjoy your much deserved honeymoons!
