One Year!!!

We made it one year! Whoo! What a wonderful year it has been. A very busy year, but wonderful just the same. When it came down to how should we celebrate, a bunch of ideas came to mind, but in the end, we decided on Phoenix, Arizona. Despite the fact it is supposed to be the hottest weekend of the year, we packed up our stuff and headed to East. Saturday, we woke up late and spent the day in Sedona. The temperature was much cooler and the rain and lightning storms were exciting. The Red Rock National Park was beautiful and we walked out to take a few pictures. After the photo taking and ice cream eating, we decided to head back to the extreme heat of Phoenix. We celebrated our anniversary by heading to the Compass Restaurant atop the Hyatt in downtown. We had a window side seat and the restaurant rotates 360 degrees, so you can see all of Phoenix. What made it even more interesting that night, were the lightning storms that lit up the sky all around. It was definitely exciting! The next morning, we spent the morning looking for the best breakfast around at, Cracker Barrel. Yum! Once we had a nourishing breakfast we headed off to the mall, so we could get out of the heat. At the mall we had an informative session about Bang & Olufson. The salesperson at the mall, must have been really bored, and gave us an entire history lesson about B&O. So, if you want to know anything about B &O, let us know, cuz we have the details now! After that nice walk through the mall, we decided we had about enough of the heat and headed home! Another 5 hour drive home through the desert. Ravi kept watching the gauges, to make sure we don't overheat. We did have to turn off the AC a few times, due to the gauge creeping upwards. But we made it home without having to pull over in the mountains. For our actual anniversary day, we enjoyed sleeping in and making a trip over to Taco Time for lunch. There currently is only one Taco Time in the OC, and we had to find it! After a wonderful lunch of crispy bean burritos, we headed over to South Coast Plaza for a movie. The heat had reached the OC as well, and we were in temperatures well into the 100s. So, as all over heated people do, head to the mall or the theater. We topped off our evening by reading books in Barnes & Nobles and watched Bourne Ultimatum. What a wonderful way to celebrate our first anniversary!
